Vienna Bronze Sculpture of an Elephant with Hunter

A beautiful bronze sculpture depicting a hunter armed with a spear, seated atop a powerful elephant.

This finely detailed sculpture features a naturalistic design and is executed in the traditional Vienna bronze style, with great attention to detail.

It is made of high-quality bronze and cold-painted in subtle, soft colours, creating a beautiful contrast between the richly patinated elephant and the colourful accents of the hunter’s attire.

Dimensions: 22 × 12 × 9 cm (8.7 × 4.8 × 3.6 inches).

Weight: 1.2 kg (2.7 lbs).

The sculpture is made in the manner of Viennese artist Franz Xaver Bergmann, renowned for his cold-painted bronze figurines and Orientalist subjects.

It is signed ‘ManGreb’ (Bergman in reverse) and bears the ‘B in a Vase’ foundry mark.

A very decorative and highly collectible bronze sculpture in the traditional Vienna style.
