A magnificent and fine detailed bronze sculpture depicting a hunter with two hounds.
The sculpture portrays a young man with two hounds at his feet. The man has his right hand raised to his ear, listening intently. He is dressed in a cap, vest, sport coat, and riding boots. Under his left arm, he holds a hound whip, signifying that he is hunting with his dogs. The dog on his right stands with its head slightly tilted to the right and its tail raised in alertness. The second dog sits to the left of its companion, with its nose pointing in the same direction as the other dog.
This lifesize sculpture is made after the great work of the French sculptor Henri Alfred Marie Jacquemart (1824-1896). The original can be seen in a park in Beverly Hills (United States).
This version is made of a good quality bronze that wears a green patina.
Height: 170 cm / 67 inches.
Signature: A. Jacquemart (on the front).
A very decorative and eye-catching work of art that will appeal to the hunting lovers amongst us.
